rumor has it that the company will release both horizontal and vertical styles like its parent company, Oppo. While details are scarce at the moment, it is likely that the foldable devices will be modified versions of Oppo’s Find N2 and Find N2 Flip. In April of 2022, PriceBaba reported rumors about the OnePlus foldable phone, stating that it would have a similar design to the Oppo Find N. However, Oppo has since released the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip, which makes it more probable that OnePlus’ foldable devices will be based on these newer models, given that they’ve already trademarked names like V Fold and V Flip.

Furthermore, the Find N2 Flip is confirmed to launch outside of China in the near future, which could cause confusion for consumers if OnePlus releases an identical device under a different name. It will be interesting to see how this will unfold.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Samsung made significant strides with its Galaxy Z Fold 4, incorporating a sleek design, a camera reminiscent of the Galaxy S22, and a new processor. However, there are still areas in which Samsung can enhance its book-style foldable phone.

One crucial improvement that I would like to see in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 is an increased focus on software that capitalizes on its foldable form. While having a massive screen that can fit in your pocket is undoubtedly a desirable feature, Samsung needs to provide more compelling reasons to entice consumers beyond early adopters.

The Galaxy Z Fold has already advanced to its fourth generation, yet foldables have yet to see the explosive moment Samsung is hoping for. Sales of foldable phones are indeed growing, but they are still projected to account for only 1.1% of the overall smartphone market in 2022, according to the International Data Corporation’s estimates.

Samsung traditionally introduces its new foldable phones in August. Therefore, the following are my expectations for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 next year. While the Galaxy Z Fold’s design is undoubtedly noteworthy, having a hardware that impresses without the accompanying software is not enough. Samsung has made great strides in enhancing the way apps work across the Z Fold’s 7.6-inch inner display since its launch. For instance, the Z Fold 4 has a dock located at the screen’s bottom, allowing quick app access, and the bottom half of the screen can act as a touchpad when in Flex Mode.

7 – Apple iPhone 15 Pro

Reports suggest that Apple’s latest iPhone range, the iPhone 15, will see substantial design alterations. A reputable source, known as ShrimpApplePro, has recently shared details of a remarkable new display that may be included in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.                According to the industry expert, Apple’s newest phone may feature a state-of-the-art Samsung screen capable of achieving an exceptional 2,500 nits of brightness. This impressive feature would surpass any other display currently available, even exceeding Samsung’s recently released Galaxy S23 series.   

If these leaks prove accurate, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could potentially outshine its competitors in terms of screen quality, making it a highly sought-after device upon its release.

In terms of brightness, the Galaxy S23 models offer a maximum of 1,750 nits, while the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max can reach up to 2,000 nits in a restricted outdoor mode, but are limited to 1,000 nits indoors and 1,600 nits for HDR content. Samsung’s 2023 flagship televisions feature QD-OLED panels that max out at 2,000 nits, which is double what the panels could achieve last year.

For the highly anticipated iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, it is likely that the 2,500 nits level will only be available in a peak outdoor brightness mode. Nevertheless, the panel’s capabilities still surpass anything currently available on the market by at least 25% in any consumer product category.

It is important to note that ShrimpApplePro has referred to the “iPhone 15 Pro Max” with caution, following a leak by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman last week. Gurman suggested that the much-rumored “Ultra” moniker will be reserved for a new flagship iPhone, set to be released in 2024, which will sit above the Pro Max. ShrimpApplePro agrees that the biggest 2023 Pro iPhone will likely still be named the Pro Max.
